|Channel Islands Aviation opened in 1976 when Mark and Janie Oberman were selected as the first operator at the Camarillo Airport, formally the Oxnard Air Force Base. For over the past thirty-five years, Channel Islands Aviation has been Camarillo Airport’s premier locally owned and operated “FBO” or Fixed Base Operator. With two generations working in the business, Channel Islands Aviation has a bright future to continue its reputation for years to come.
Channel Islands Aviation operates a first class Cessna Pilot Center flight school that was awarded Cessna’s national Diamond Award for “exceeding company operational standards and for excellence in flight training.” Over fifty percent of our training and rental fleet is model 2004 or newer and we have been providing Garmin G1000 training since the system was introduced in 2004. We are also the first flight school in Ventura County to operate a Cessna 162 Skycatcher, Cessna’s new two place training airplane.
